A guide to your next move.
A more flexible stock rule
The objective remains eight complete same-suit King-to-Ace runs. Relaxed Spider on bjcysw.com permits stock deals while columns are empty. The game still uses 104 cards in ten columns. Choose one suit, two suits or four suits using the game controls.
Deal into empty columns
The following details apply here. A stock card dealt to an empty column becomes that column's first face-up card. The relaxed stock rule does not allow mixed-suit groups to move together. An empty column no longer prevents a stock deal in this variant. The relaxed stock rule does not change the rank requirement for ordinary moves.
Ten columns and a stock
The following details apply here. The stock contains fifty cards for five later deals. The opening tableau contains 54 cards. The first four columns have six cards each and the remaining six have five. Only the bottom card of each opening column is face up.
Move a single card
The following details apply here. An Ace cannot receive a lower-ranked card. An exposed card may land on another exposed card exactly one rank higher. A King needs an empty destination because no rank is higher. The two cards do not need to share a suit for a single-card placement.
Move a group
Here are the details for this mode. A descending group moves as a unit only when every selected card shares a suit. A suit change can leave a smaller movable group at the bottom of a column. A break in rank prevents the entire selected group from moving together. Same-suit building can reduce the work needed to separate mixed sequences later.
Use empty columns thoughtfully
A few details help explain this feature. Any exposed card or legal same-suit group can occupy an empty column. A new stock row fills every empty column with one card. Empty columns remain useful for separating temporary mixed builds. You may preserve an empty column until you decide to deal from the stock.
Stock deals are still shared
Keep these points in mind. You cannot direct an individual stock card to a chosen destination. Undo restores the previous arrangement when the stock-deal snapshot is available. A stock deal places one card onto each of the ten columns. Dealing can block an existing sequence as well as reveal new combinations.
Collect matching runs
A few details help explain this feature. Eight collected runs are required to finish Relaxed Spider. A complete run contains thirteen face-up cards in one suit from King to Ace. The game removes a complete run automatically at the bottom of a column. Changing the number of suits does not change the number of required runs.
Practice the variant
A few details help explain this feature. Random relaxed deals are not presented as guaranteed solvable. Replay restores the same shuffle for another attempt. New game creates a fresh shuffle in the selected suit setting. Hints identify legal options without guaranteeing a win.
Separate variant progress
The following details apply here. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you turn saving off or clear local records. Each relaxed suit setting has its own current local game. My Statistics displays relaxed starts and wins in separate rows. Relaxed Spider keeps its saved games separate from standard Spider when saving is enabled.
